    This is America.

This is America. The land of the great. The land where we take a knee for our country on the necks of our black brothers and sisters. The land where we shoot and kill an innocent black man on a run. The land in which a white man gets a slap on the wrist for rapping a women and leaving her behind a dumpster. The land in which a grown white man can publicly say to “grab her by the pussy“ and become president. This is America.

This is America. In the land of the free being black is a death sentence. It doesn’t matter if you didn’t do anything, if you are black you are automatically guilty. Throw those hands up over your head and you’ll still probably end up with a gun to your head. This is America.

This is America. Get on the ground, don’t move and scream you can’t breathe. While you’re at it scream louder for help and guess what, it’ll come in the form of 4 police officers. Except instead of helping you they will crush you with the pressure of all their bodies on you until you are dead. And then even longer after you are no longer breathing they will remain on top of you because this, this is America.

This is America. As Will Smith said, “racism isn't getting worse, it’s getting filmed“. Justice is served for blacks only when the videos are released. Only after the uproar of social media demands justice. Only after countless innocent life’s are brutally lost. Long after the blood has washed away the whites will be put away. This is America.

This is America. In this land white privilege rains supreme. Shoot up a school as a white person and you will be walked away nicely in hand cuffs. Go for a run as a black man and you’ll be shot dead mid day in the streets. In this land where all are supposed to be equal I don’t see a level playing field. This is America.

This is America, but not the one I want my child growing up in. This isn’t how I want my child to be raised. This isn’t how it should be and America can’t be “great“ again until something changes. Until the day this land becomes one instead of the great divide between black and white. All these same damn problems will remain the same until we unite.

I don’t care what color your skin is, we are all the same inside. We are all human and we all have the right to live. We all have a voice and a right to be heard. I am asking us all to raise our voices and raise hell for our black brothers and sisters. Use your voice for the voiceless. Make a change for social injustice. And while you do so, raise your kids the same damn way. No one is born a racist, it’s learned. Teach your kids to accept and love one another no matter what skin color they have. Show them how to stand up for others. This is America. But if we all stand together it doesn’t have to be.

This is America. Educate yourself. Learn the facts and start doing something about it.

This is America. Say their names. Pray for their families, for peace for the innocent life’s lost and for hell to be raised over those who caused it.

This is America and will forever be until you make the choice to do something about it. Make today be that day.
