It’s 2019, you don’t own me. The year is not 1833 so why are women being treated as if it is? We are in the fight of our life currently and you best believe I am going to raise hell. I will scream from every roof top if I need to: OUR BODY, OUR CHOICE.
Its 2019, just let us be. Women have fought for centuries for equal rights, just rights in general really. We didn’t have the right to vote, to drink, to even speak. So why is it 2019 and we are still fighting that damn fight.
Its 2019, this is not the year you take away the rights of women. It is the year you hold rapists, child murders, etc accountable for their actions. It is the year men like Brock turner and the bus driver who raped a 14 year old girl get more then just a slap on the wrist. It is not the year you say “it was just one girl“, “she was drunk” and best of all “she was asking for it”.
Its 2019, when I look at my daughter I want to tell her she can be whatever she wants to be. Not that she needs to keep her mouth shut because her voice doesn’t matter. It’s not the year I should be seeing headlines that a 11 year old girl has to carry her rapists baby. What message are we sending to our future generation?
It’s 2019, senator I am not a pawn in your chess game. My body is not your stepping stone to the next social status, next political success or more money. You have no idea what it’s like to be me. What it is like to be cat called while walking with your daughter, afraid to get your car in the parking garage or not being able to even walk alone period. It’s 2019, stop silencing me.
Its 2019, women should be free. Free to make their own choices. Free to decide what is right for their body. Free to carry a pregnancy or terminate it. It’s 2019, you don’t own me. MY BODY, MY CHOICE.
Its 2019, stay out of my body. If you are not a women then you have no damn idea. It’s 2019, stop thinking you have a right over me. You want to control me then lets turn the tables and see how you feel. It’s 2019, you don’t own me.
~Shes a little sass and a whole lot of badass~
